Vietnam Honorary Consul General in Gwangju-Chonnam appointed
A ceremony was held in Gwangju City, Republic of Korea, on January 30 to inaugurate the consulate general office and hand over an appointment decision to Kim Sang Yeol, president of the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) and Hoban Construction Company to be Vietnam honorable Consul General in Gwangju-Chonnam region.

Vietnam Ambassador to the RoK Pham Chi Huu congratulated Mr Kim and emphasized that this is a significant event in the two countries’ strategic cooperative partnership.

Gwangju-Chonnam is a home to around 10,000 Vietnamese people and a large number of Korean businesses which are and will be operating in Vietnam, Huu said.
He hoped that the consulate general headed by Kim Sang Yeol will contribute to boosting bilateral cooperation and friendship exchange and support the Vietnamese people community in the region.
Meanwhile, Kim thanked the Vietnamese Government and people for entrusting him with the noble duty and pledged to do his utmost to fulfill his task, contributing to bilateral friendship and cooperative ties.
The honorable consulate general office in Gwangju-Chonnam is situated in KBS TV Station Building in the centre of Gwangju City.
