During 4 days from March 29 to April 1 of the Vietnam International Travel Mart 2018 (VITM) in Hanoi, a total 29,300 guests booked their package tours worth VND245 billion (US$10.74 million), according to the statistics of 21 travel agencies.

A survey conducted by the organisers have showed that 81.2% of participating units said they were satisfied with the VITM 2018, and 74.5% of them will continue to join the event in the future.
Under the theme of “Online travel, Vietnam tourism looks toward the fourth industrial revolution,” the VITM 2018 had numerous activities encouraging enterprises to gain access to and grasp business opportunities in the digital era.
Outstanding businesses and individuals who made contribution to Vietnam’s tourism development were honoured at the event, including 12 leading travel agents in 2017.
Vietnam aims to serve between 15 – 17 million foreigners and 78 million domestic travellers this year, with total revenue expected to hit VND620 trillion (US$27.28 billion), up 21.35% year on year.
In which, National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and low-cost airline Jetstar Pacific attended the 6th VITM 2018. The two airlines have introduced a wide range of products and services and promotional programs to stimulate tourism demand and elevate the image of Vietnamese, its land and people in the world.
Vietnamese Airlines has recently served new complimentary snacks on several domestic and international air flights, expand the time for online check-in procedure and put Boeing 787-9 plane into operation on the Hanoi-Moscow air route.
Meanwhile, Jetstar Pacific has also put into service its automatic check-in kiosk system at airport, following its implementation of a web check-in system recently, introduced Hanoi-Quy Nhon route for summer season, and increased flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok to two per day.
On the threshold of the event, Vietnam Airlines launched discount tickets priced from VND560,000 (US$24,6) for one-way ticket for domestic flights and VND320,000 (US$14) for round-trip ticket for flights to South East Asian nations (excluding tax and fees). Jetstar Pacific also offered hundreds of domestic tickets priced from zero VND and international tickets from VND78,000 (US$3,4).
