Vietnam – Laos investment cooperation meeting to be held on March 27

2016 Vietnam – Laos investment cooperation conference, which is co-chaired by the countries` Planning and Investment ministries, will be held in central Da Nang city from March 26 - 27, Director of the ministry’s Foreign Investment Agency, Do Nhat Hoang, said at the press meeting on March 22.

Addressing the meeting, Director of the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Foreign Investment Agency, Do Nhat Hoang said the event will be chaired by the countries’ Government leaders and attended by about 500 representatives of their ministries, localities and enterprises.
The conference will focus on the industries and regions for which Laos is calling for Vietnamese investment.
The meeting will also provide information on the country’s incentives and assistance for Vietnamese investors, Hoang added. 
During the conference, a discussion will take place between the two sides’ authorised agencies and businesses on March 26, to assess Vietnamese investments in Laos, Laos ’s investment demand for 2016-2020 period, and the country’s investment attraction directions and incentives for Vietnam.
A Vietnam – Laos investment cooperation meeting, which will be attended by over 500 delegates, will take place on March 27.

The event will discuss on orientations for bilateral investment cooperation and the two Governments’ support policies, in order to create a investment wave of Vietnam's businesses in Laos in the coming time, reinforce and develop Vietnam - Laos traditional and comprehensive friendship cooperation relationship.
According to Director Do Nhat Hoang, up to now, Vietnamese investors have poured 4.9 million USD into Laos, making the land-lock nation the biggest investment destination of Vietnam. Vietnam ranked second, after China (with about 9 billion USD) in the leading countries with investment activities in Laos.
