Vietnam launches digital transformation center to support press agencies

The launch of the support center aligns with the Government's goal to achieve an effective digital media transformation by 2025 and beyond.

The Ministry of Information and Communications has launched a digital transformation center to support media outlets and ensure their competitiveness in the digital age.

According to Luu Dinh Phuc, Director of the Press Authority under the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), the center will be responsible for developing an index to measure the level of digital transformation of media outlets, providing information and materials on successful digital media transformation models and experiences, and offering financial, technical, and technological support to press agencies.

Speaking at a regular press conference in Hanoi on June 5, Phuc said the Press Authority would serve as a primary source of information and evaluation, bringing together experts, researchers, and media leaders to address challenges in the digital media transformation process.

Phuc expected the center to build an evaluation index to measure the level of digital transformation maturity and provide useful information and resources, including successful digital media transformation models and financial, technical, and technological support for media organizations.

The launch of the support center is in line with the Government's goal of achieving effective digital media transformation by 2025 and beyond.

At the same event, the MIC also launched a new online portal, https://pdt.gov.vn/, to provide information and ratings on the digital media transformation progress. The ratings and evaluations will be published on the MIC portal at https://mic.gov.vn/ and on the center's portal at https://pdt.gov.vn/.

The center's establishment is part of the Vietnamese Government's broader efforts to digitize the country's economy and society, laying a solid foundation for development and progress.
