The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the US signed a joint declaration on the intention of cooperation in civil space and aviation activities in Hanoi.

Director of VAST National Satellite Centre Pham Anh Tuan said cooperation with NASA will help Vietnamese scientists access and use NASA data sources in
VAST and NASA will cooperate in the research of space applications for social purposes, the exchange of data on earth research through satellites, environment and geophysics and human resource training for space research, Tuan said.
VAST and NASA will assign experts to implement the framework agreement, he said.
