Vietnam leads export growth to Singapore with 32.11% increase in 2024

Vietnam's export growth to Singapore between January and November reached 32.11% year-on-year, the highest among all countries. It is followed by Taiwan (China) with a growth rate of 26.7%. Major export products include machinery, telephones, glass and reactors.

State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese receives First-Class Labor Order

The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received the First-Class Labor Order on December 25 for the second time. Binh Duong to hire 70,000-80,000 workers in 2025

The southern province of Binh Duong, a key industrial hub in southern Vietnam, plans to recruit 70,000-80,000 workers in 2025, with demand surging after the Lunar New Year. In 2024, recruitment jumped 75% year-on-year to nearly 80,000 workers, mainly in the manufacturing sector. The province is committed to vocational training, protecting workers' rights, and ensuring a sustainable work environment.

Vietnam to reach nearly US$44 billion in textile exports

Vietnam is projected to attain nearly US$44 billion in textile and garment exports in 2024, with a growth rate of over 10%, ranking second globally after India. The textile industry has effectively leveraged opportunities in key markets such as the US and EU, as well as the shift of orders from Bangladesh.

Metro Line 1 exceeds ridership targets in first three days

Metro Line 1, the first metro system in Ho Chi Minh City, carried 279,000 passengers from December 22 to 24, exceeding the planned 105,000. On December 24 alone, nine trains made 220 trips from 5 am to 10:30 pm, carrying more than 90,000 passengers.

Personal data requirements tightened for social media users

Social media users in Vietnam must provide basic personal information, including full name, date of birth, and a local phone number, according to a government decree issued on December 25. For users under the age of 16, parents or guardians must register on their behalf and supervise the child's online activities.
