Vietnamese exports to Laos reach US$117 million in January

Vietnam's exports to Laos in January doubled year-on-year to US$117 million. Chemical products led the way with US$64 million, up 96 times from the same period last year while machinery and equipment reached US$12.5 million, quadrupling from January 2024.

Vietnam's fruit and vegetable imports from China close to US$1 billion in 2024

China led fruit and vegetable exports to Vietnam in 2024, with shipments reaching nearly US$1 billion, up 25% from the previous year. The US ranked the second largest supplier, exporting US$544 million worth of produce, up 64% from 2023. Australia ranked third, sending US$151 million, an increase of more than 6% on year.

Vietnam attracts US travelers with budget-friendly options

Metro Nhon-Hanoi Station carries 3.4 million passengers in six months

After six months of operation (from 8 August), the Metro Nhon-Hanoi Station (elevated section) has carried nearly 3.4 million passengers, an average of about half a million per month. More than 60% use monthly passes, reflecting strong public acceptance, especially among students and workers. The underground section of Hanoi station is under construction and is expected to open in 2026.

Eight teams compete in the 2025 National Futsal Championship

The HDBank National Futsal Championship 2025 kicks off today with eight teams competing: Thai Son Nam HCMC, Thai Son Bac, Sahako, Hanoi, Tan Hiep Hung HCMC, Saigon Titans HCMC, Luxury Ha Long and Tre HCMC. The tournament will be played in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from February 16 to June 29 in a home-and-away round-robin format.

Cycling event promotes sustainability and urban mobility in Ho Chi Minh City

The "Cycling for the Future" event was held on February 16 with over 400 participants to promote sustainable transportation. It welcomed Dutch cyclists Rick Keijzer and Sven Broekhuizen, who rode 20,000 km across 24 countries to Vietnam. The event highlighted the role of cycling in reducing congestion and improving urban sustainability.
