Vietnam-US advance education cooperation
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh today (March 31) met representatives of 21 top US universities coming to cooperate with 30 leading Vietnamese universities under the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) 2025.
The cooperation covers STEM, digital and green transformation, ICT, semiconductors, AI, automation, biotechnology, advanced materials, green energy, international law, agriculture, sustainability, healthcare, education, Southeast Asian studies, and Vietnamese studies. Education is one among some key pillars in the US-Vietnam relations. Currently, more than 31,000 Vietnamese students study in the US.
Vietnam armed forces began rescue operations in Myanmar
A rescue team from Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security on March 31 began relief work in Myanmar. The team, including officers with previous experience in Turkey's 2023 earthquake rescue, arrived in Naypyidaw's Zabuthiri area. They coordinated with the Myanmar Disaster Relief Center and used search dogs to locate victims trapped in a collapsed building.

Danang port capacity to be expanded by 2050
By 2030, Danang's port system is expected to handle 23-29 million tons of cargo, including 1.33-1.71 million TEUs of containers, and 532,300-597,000 passengers. The Ministry of Construction aims to attract $918 million in investment to develop port infrastructure. New ports will be developed by 2050, with Lien Chieu Port expanding to 22 berths.
Public Security Ministry enhances online communication
The official Zalo page of the Ministry of Public Security was launched and verified with a "gold tick" to improve public communication. The site provides updates on security, crime prevention, and law enforcement while countering misinformation and strengthening public engagement. This program is in line with government regulations on online information and public services.
Honda recalls motorcycles over gear shift defect
Honda is recalling 69 CB650R and CBR650R motorcycles in Vietnam beginning March 25 due to loose gear shift bolts and nuts that may cause shifting failure and potential safety hazards. The recall offers free checks and repairs at authorized dealers, where Honda urges affected owners to bring their motorcycles for service.
Viet Duc Hospital takes orthopedic surgery to the next level
Since 2002, Vietduc University Hospital, one of the leading hospitals in Vietnam, built in 1902, has performed over 30,000 orthopedic surgeries, including nearly 20,000 joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, and finger joints). Among these, 5,000 successful hip replacements have helped elderly patients regain mobility, highlighting the hospital's expertise in treating femur fractures.
