Vietnam - Brazil to cooperate on priority research areas
Brazil and Vietnam should identify common priority research areas, including artificial intelligence, digital transformation, biotechnology, and climate change, the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology said at the Vietnam-Brazil Ministerial Dialogue on Science, Technology and Innovation held in Hanoi on November 27. The event was held during the visit of Luciana Santos, Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation of Brazil, to Vietnam on November 27-30.
International golf tournament gathers world legends

The Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023 international golf competition will feature 60 of the world's legendary golfers, including 2005 US Open winner Michael Campbell. They will take part in a six-day sporting event starting from November 27 at Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa Province.
The competition consists of two friendly rounds and a three-day official tournament from November 30 to December 2. The winner will receive a prize of US$93,500 out of a total prize fund of VND31 billion ($1.2 million).
Housing Law approved, tenement developers to be controlled
On November 27, the National Assembly approved the amended Housing Law, which tightens regulations on the construction and development of tenement buildings. Commercial tenement buildings will be subject to certain construction and fire safety regulations, and the developer will be granted land title deeds to offer the tenements for sale and lease.
The approval of the amended Housing Law aims to improve the management of tenement buildings amid substandard buildings.

Vietnam aims to cultivate one million hectares of high-quality, low-emission specialty rice in the Mekong Delta by 2030, according to the project approved by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang on November 27. The project will be implemented in 12 provinces in the Mekong Delta, including An Giang, Kien Giang, Dong Thap, Long An, Soc Trang, Can Tho, Bac Lieu, Tra Vinh, Hau Giang, Ca Mau, Tien Giang, and Vinh Long.
Quang Ngai province to relocate residents for highway construction by December 15
The central coastal province of Quang Ngai plans to complete compensation and resettlement for the North-South Expressway East project by December 15, a meeting heard on November 27. The province also aims to complete land clearance by December 31, as ordered by the Prime Minister and the Government.
The project, which runs through Quang Ngai Province, stretches more than 60 kilometers and requires a total of nearly 500 hectares of land. The project will affect nearly 5,500 families in the province, including 800 households that will need to be relocated. Local authorities have cleared 95% of the required land.
