River-themed tourism week promotes regional cooperation

The Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta Tourism and Trade Week, themed "Essence of the River Region", is now underway in the Mekong city of Can Tho until December 2. Highlights include river parades, a composite boat race, cultural performances, and displays of OCOP products to promote regional tourism and economic cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta provinces.

Young artists showcase talents at National Fine Arts Festival

The 7th National Young Fine Arts Festival 2024 has opened in Hanoi and runs until February 6, 2025, to showcase emerging talents aged 18-35. It features 148 works selected from 1,050 submissions by 300 artists. Three first prizes will be awarded for outstanding works, highlighting the contemporary social reflections of young Vietnamese artists. 

Creativity festival promotes sustainability and cultural reinvention

The Vietnam Festival of Creativity & Design (VFCD) 2024, themed 'Regeneration', is taking place in Ho Chi Minh City until December 5. It highlights sustainability through exhibitions, workshops, and discussions through key themes including culture, community, and the environment, with the aim of inspiring innovative solutions for resilience and renewal.

Chinese tourists explore Vietnam on scenic train journey

More than 460 Chinese tourists arrived in Nha Trang by train on November 30 as part of a 12-day trans-Vietnam tour. Welcomed by the Khanh Hoa Tourism Department, the group explored landmarks such as Ponagar Tower and Hon Chong promontory (Chong rock). This new train tour showcases Vietnam's scenic beauty while reinforcing Nha Trang's appeal as a friendly, vibrant destination. More tours are planned throughout 2025.

International taekwondo competition celebrates police unity

The 2024 Asian Police Taekwondo Open will be held December 6-9 in the northern province of Quang Ninh, bringing together more than 2,000 participants from 21 countries. It will feature competitive matches, a cultural festival, and performances. The event celebrates police unity and taekwondo's role in global security and well-being. Organized by Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security, it marks the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Force.

Artists showcase cultural resilience through Northwest-inspired performance

Tay Park - Forest, a visual show inspired by the culture and people of northwest Vietnam combining photography, dance, and music is currently running in Hanoi until December 1. Directed by Nguyen Thanh Tuan and featuring contributions from various artists, this artistic tribute highlights themes of resilience and heritage,  celebrating the spirit of the region while preserving its cultural values.

Exhibition on Vietnam's unity through artifacts and handicrafts

The exhibition Phu Xuan-Gia Dinh: Historical Imprints, held at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, explores the political, cultural, and social development of Phu Xuan-Hue and Gia Dinh-Saigon. Featuring 300 artifacts and interactive traditional craft activities, the exhibition which will run until February 23, 2025, highlights Vietnam's historical unity and rich heritage while celebrating Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day.
