Lao leader pays tribute to President Ho Chi Minh
General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, his wife, and the high-level Lao delegation laid a wreath at the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi on September 11 to pay tribute to the national leader of Vietnam. Vietnam attends 2024 Seoul Defence Dialogue
Vietnam proposed the establishment of a global cybersecurity sharing system at the 13th Seoul Defense Dialogue, attended by Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defence. The event, held from September 10 to 12, brought together 900 delegates from 70 countries around the world to discuss global issues such as preventing war and conflict and maintaining international order and peace.
Southern province launches peak campaign against IUU fishing
Vietnam's southernmost province of Ca Mau will conduct a peak campaign against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing from September 11 to 30.
The province will digitize all records of fishing vessels with expired licences, expired registrations, lost connections, vessels sold but whose ownership has not yet been transferred, and those operating beyond their permitted limits. Measures will be taken on a case-by-case basis to promptly prevent violations and enforce strict penalties in accordance with the law.

The products on exhibit were made of Vietnamese materials that meet international standards for sustainable development. According to the Office for National Statistics, Vietnam was the UK's fifth largest supplier of wooden handicrafts by 2023.
