Japanese Crown Prince and Princess visit Hoi An ancient town
Japan's Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko visited Hoi An Ancient Town on September 23 and attended several art performances at the Japanese Cultural Center. The two then walked through the streets of Hoi An and visited the Cau Pagoda, which is under renovation and was built by Japanese merchants in the 17th century to pray for prosperity, peace, and stability.
Vietnam Design Week 2023 opens at Hanoi's Temple of Literature
The fourth edition of Vietnam Design Week 2023 kicks off tonight (September 24) at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi. The event features a design fair that brings together designers, businesses, and customers, showcasing products in interior design, handicrafts, fashion, and communication.
Vietnam Design Week 2023 will run until September 29. Other major activities include the Designed by Vietnam contest, the Design of the Year Awards, and workshops and seminars.

Vietnam ranked among best destinations in Asia Pacific Agoda
Vietnam was one of the most popular destinations in the Asia-Pacific region from January to June, according to Vu Ngoc Lam, Director of travel booking platform Agoda in Vietnam and Indochina. Vietnam became popular for its mix of traditional and modern cultural values, beautiful natural landscapes, and friendly people.
South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, and Australia were among the largest international tourist communities in Vietnam. Vietnam's Danang, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City were the three best destinations for Thai travelers.
Tourism experts suggest developing a program to promote agrotourism
The tourism sector is considering launching a nationwide agro-tourism program to promote local products and services, business representatives said at a conference this week. The potential program, called "One Region, One Agriculture Product," will promote some 10,000 local products across the country to visitors, telling the stories of Vietnam's rural areas and attracting more visitors.
Many of the 10,000 products imitate each other, so local authorities and producers are encouraged to develop their own imprints and improve their service quality to enhance their brands.
Vietnamese workers injured in Taiwan's factory fire to receive maximum aid of US$3,240
Vietnamese workers injured in a factory fire in the southern province of Pingtung, Taiwan (China) have received a maximum aid package of VND79 million (US$3,240) each. The fire, which broke out on Friday night [September 23], killed at least five people and injured more than 100 others, including 19 Vietnamese workers.
Mainstream media brands to appear on smart TVs from 2024
Television products available in Vietnam will be broadcast through mainstream media apps from 2024, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam said on September 23. The installation of apps will give people easier access to quality services from mainstream media and protect them from fake news on the Internet.
Malaysia is the first country to integrate mainstream media platforms into smart TVs, smart phones, and other devices.
