The Vietnamese Ministry of Pubic Security (MPS) has probed two high-ranking officers who were once deputy ministers of the ministry.

The pair were accused of infringing state regulations on disclosure of classified information; signing, without being authorized, decisions related to land management, allowing property tycoon Phan Van Anh Vu (aka Vu nhom) to profit from public land appropriation, among other charges.
Earlier in July, Thanh was dismissed and degraded to colonel. While in August, Tan was removed from the post of deputy minister for the 2011-2016 term.
Obviously, the two men are no longer police officers at the time of being probed.
The probe is part of the investigation expansion of Vu-caused case.
So far, nine senior officers and officials have been probed for involving in the property tycoon, including deputy chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, and two chairmen of the Danang People’s Committee.
