Different kinds of weapons are being showcased at a military exhibition taking place in Thai Nguyen – a province north of Hanoi.

Held by the Ministry of National Defense, the exhibition marks the participation of 160 units with more than 300 booths which display modern weaponry – a rare move in the country in which military issues have not been normally publicized.
S-125-2TM / Pechora-2TM air defense missile system |
S-125-2TM/Pechora-2TM medium range air defense missile system is aimed at destroying advanced, small-sized aerial attack platforms flying at low altitudes. It can also be deployed against ground and water-surface targets that are visible to radar.
The system is equipped with four missiles.
The VRS-2DM radar system |
The VRS-2DM radar system is produced by military group Viettel and provides information to air-defense troops and can perform airspace and flight management tasks. Laos purchased the system as means to boost its combat capability.
P-18M radar |
P-18M radar is produced by Vietnam’s Z119 Factory based on Czech’s Spoon Rest D. It is a very fast mobile radar unit in the VHF- frequency range, constructed into two all-terrain trucks (Ural) with two supporters.
VUA-SC-3G drone |
VUA-SC-3G, which is produced by Viettel, is designed for activities such as tracking targets in remote areas, mapping surveys from above, traffic monitoring, and search/rescue missions, mainly used by border guards units.
T-90S tank |

The BM-21 Grad is multiple launch rocket system, having 40 launching tubes for 122 mm rockets. This artillery rocket system also fires rockets fitted with incendiary, chemical, smoke, illumination or cluster warheads.
The ZSU-23-4M1 Shilka |
The ZSU-23-4M1 Shilka is 23 mm self-propelled anti-aircraft gun, fitted with target surveillance and tracking radar and simple fire control system. Its radar has a tracking range of 6-10 km, depending on target's altitude.
