Vietnam Social Security leads IT application among state agencies
In recent years, the Vietnam Social Security has paid special attention to IT application.
The Vietnam Social Security keeps holding the top position among state agencies in terms of information technology (IT) application for a second straight year, local media reported.
Vietnam News Agency and Vietnam Television hold the second and third positions, respectively after the Vietnam Social Security. The Management Board of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum joins the ranking for the first time and is currently ranked seventh.
In recent years, the Vietnam Social Security has paid special attention to IT application. Specifically, the social security sector has built a centralized database system and identification number system for managing participants of social security, health insurance and unemployment insurance nationwide.
So far, the Vietnam Social Insurance has provided online public services at level 3 out of 4. In 2018, more than 47 million records in the field of social security, health insurance were applied online transactions. The sector’s entire IT application has been implemented and built in accordance with the e-Government Architecture Framework issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Speaking at the workshop on developing e-government on April 25 where the rankings were announced, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong noted that this was the second year that the ranking results on IT application and e-Government development of ministries, branches and localities were published.
The ministry carefully researched method of ranking, taking into account the evaluation method of the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) that the United Nations applied to its member countries and territories, Hong stressed.
