Vietnam – South Korea cultural exchange organized in Seoul

On August 27, Vietnam – South Korea cultural exchange festival was held in Seoul, to celebrate Vietnam’s 72nd National Day (September 2nd, 1945) and the 25th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties (December 22th, 1992).

According to Vietnam’s Ambassador to South Korea Nguyen Vu Tu, more cultural and people-to-people exchanges have been held between the two countries, contributing to stepping up their bilateral friendship and mutual understanding.
President of the Vietnamese Women’s Association in South Korea Mai Thi Hong Ngoc said that the event aimed at promoting Vietnamese culture and people to South Koreans and international friends.
She expressed her hope that through artistic performances and Vietnamese cuisine, the festival will help tighten the friendship between the two countries, which hold a lot of cultural similarities.
Kim Hae-ryon, a representative from the Seoul city council, expressed her appreciation for the contributions made by the Vietnamese community to her country’s development.
She vowed to do her utmost to support the Vietnamese community and nurture the two countries’ relations. Some 150,000 Vietnamese people are living and working in South Korea.
On August 24th, a ceremony to mark the 72nd anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was organized in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At the event, Malaysian Minister of Industry, Plantation and Commodities Mah Siew Keong congratulated Vietnam and the Vietnamese Ambassador on the occasion of the National Day and hoped that the relations between the two countries will continue to develop more strongly in the future.
On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Tanzania celebrated the 72nd National Day of Vietnam and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Tanzania's capital Dar es Salaam. At the event, Tanzania’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Charles John Poul Mwijage said that he had just visited Vietnam last July and early August, and he was impressed by Vietnam’s development.
National Day is a national holiday in Vietnam observed on September 2nd, commemorating the Vietnam Declaration of Independence from France on September 2nd, 1945. It is the country's National Day.
