The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in collaboration with the Hanoi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, localities and businesses will participate in World Travel Market (WTM) in London, the UK from November 5 to 11.
Accordingly, VNAT in collaboration with Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board and Hanoi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will design Vietnam booth to promote amazing destinations of the country, organize press conferences and introduce a traditional culture through special art performances, etc.
In addition, Vietnam will have a chance to introduce more traditionally safe, friendly destinations to British and European tourists. The program is part of activities VNAT will organize to promote Vietnam’s image, culture and tourism products as well as push up travel and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and those countries.
Earlier, VNAT hold a similar tourism promotion program from June 18 to 29 in Zurich (Switzerland), Munich (Germany), Vienna (Austria), Budapest (Hungary) and Prague (the Czech Republic).
WTM is the leading global event for the travel industry to meet industry professionals and conduct business deals, launched at London's Olympia in 1980 before moving to Earl’s Court in 1992 and then to ExCeL London in 2002. Through its industry networks, unrivalled global reach, WTM London creates personal and business opportunities, providing customers with quality contacts, content and communities.
In 2017, WTM London sparked a million meetings, resulting in around £3 billion (US$3.8 billion) in contracts. Their marketing reaches further and deeper, through social networks, partnerships and media, according to WTM's website.
The number of foreign tourists to Vietnam in the first seven months of 2018 is estimated at 9.08 million, a year-on-year rise of 25.4%, the General Statistics Office (GSO) has announced.
Arrivals by air, road in the reviewed period recorded annual increases of 20.2%, 63.3%, respectively.
