Vietnam travel companies boost cooperation with South Korea province of Gyeongbuk
On Friday, April 7, 2017, Introduction workshop on Gyeongbuk Tourism - Theme Korean Tourism was held in Melia Hotel, Hanoi.
The introduction workshop on Gyeongbuk Tourism - Theme Korean Tourism was held in Melia Hotel, Hanoi with the primary content of cooperation signing ceremony in order to promote activities between Gyeongbuk Tourism Promotion Department, Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Vietnam and 5 big travel companies as follows: Vietravel Company – Hanoi branch, Hanoitourist Travel Company, Saigon Tourist Company – Hanoi branch, Hanoiredtours Company, Vietrantour Company.
According to the cooperation memorandum, tourism companies will build new tourism products to Gyeongbuk province for Vietnamese tourists. In particular, new travel products must meet conditions: accomodation for tourists must be at least 01 night at any hotel in Gyeongbuk province, at least 03 meals must be at restaurants in Gyeongbuk province (including breakfast), 02 sight-seeing with charge and 02 free sight-seeing in Gyeongbuk must be on the list of tours. In contrast, Gyeongbuk province will also actively support the travel agencies in Vietnam on administration and finance to develop new tourism products to Gyeongsangbuk-do, companies signing in this memorandum will enjoy incentives which are, especially, better than others. Within memorandum term, Gyeongbuk Province will support tourism product development as well as promotional expenditures up to USD 2,000 and provide necessary promotional materials and information for development and sale of new products.
The memorandum of cooperation was signed in the context showing that Korean tourism is extremely increasing and especially attracting many tourists from Southeast Asia, including Vietnam with dominance. Gyengsangbuk province is considered as a representative of Korea because it owns many beautiful natural scenery with five places recognized by UNESCO as world cultural heritages. Moreover, this year, Gyengsangbuk is also recognized as a typical tourist destination of Korea.
In the seminar, representative of the Tourism Products Department of Korea Tourism Organization, Joung Jin Su also introduced Theme Korean tourism programs, including: performance, traditional markets, cultural tourism festivals, sport tourism, international events, special experiences, special food, film studio and the PyeongChang winter Olympics 2018.
