Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Mr. Bruno Angelet, Ambassador, Head of Delegation of the European Union (EU) in Vietnam.
Congratulating Mr. Bruno Angelet who is trusted as EU ambassador after the end of term of the Ambassador of Belgium in Vietnam, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stressed that Vietnam - European Union relation is developing very well and the two sides had just finished negotiating a free trade agreement between Vietnam and EU (EVFTA); this is a significant milestone, not only makes sense to promote economic cooperation, trade and investment but also a range of strategic, comprehensive, long-term cooperation, giving the cooperation between Vietnam and the EU on the field to a new development.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that Vietnam attaches importance to strengthen more comprehensive relations in all fields, equal cooperation, mutual benefit, and discovered development with EU. The Prime Minister said that during a working visit to the European Commission Headquarters, European Commission and European Parliament next week, leaders of Vietnam will exchange and discussions with EU leaders on the direction and measures to vigorously promote bilateral ties in the coming period, in which the two sides will also witness the signing of an official agreement negotiations to the ended EVFTA. The Prime Minister also suggested that EU Member States to promote early ratification of the remaining partnership agreements and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and EU (PCA).
Ambassador Bruno Angelet said that cooperation between Vietnam and the EU is developing very well and in the future will be even better, the two sides share common goals. Affirming that Vietnam is one of the most important partner of the EU in the ASEAN, the Ambassador said that cooperation between the two parties in the future will not just stop at the economy, trade and investment but also cooperation in politics, diplomacy, security - the strategic factor.
Ambassador Bruno Angelet said that the EU share the objectives and development orientations of Vietnam in the years to come after decades of development with significant achievements. Affirming that Vietnam is still in the process of reform and the EU should support the process of Vietnam.
