The Vietnam-Brazil Friendship and Cooperation Association announced the information at the 3rd congress held on July 15.
Composed of 20,000 terms spanning 17 subject areas, the dictionary will be a valuable resource for individuals, institutions, and businesses in both countries.
From 2025 to 2030, the association plans to strengthen bilateral relations through tourism, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges.
The association will foster stronger ties between localities, friendship organizations, and business communities to promote mutual understanding and goodwill between the two countries.
The association will also intensify the sharing of information and policies targeting Vietnamese living in Brazil and Brazilians living in Vietnam.
At the congress, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep was elected president of the association for the 2025–2030 term.
The congress also witnessed the election of 35 members to the association’s standing committee for the new term.
Vietnam and Brazil established diplomatic relations in May 1989. In 2024, the two nations upgraded their relationship to a Strategic Partnership.
Brazil is currently Vietnam’s largest trading partner in Latin America, and Vietnam plays a pivotal role in Brazil’s relations with Southeast Asia.
In 2024, bilateral trade jumped 12% year over year to nearly $8 billion, accounting for one-third of Vietnam’s total trade with Latin American economies.
Both countries aim to boost trade to $10 billion by 2025 and $15 billion by 2030.
