Vietnamese users like variety in content on Youtube

Vietnamese people’s watch time for financial content, fashion, pilates videos, music and online gaming competitions on Youtube has increased recently.

Time spent on watching YouTube with a large variety of contents of Vietnamese people has increased in the past period, according to the latest report of Google.

Vietnam currently has more than 350 YouTube channels having more than one million subscribers, showing the good job of the community of content creators in the country, according to Google.

The following five content groups have impressive growth over the same period in 2019: videos containing finance-related content (more than double); pilates videos (more than double);  videos featuring folk music (more than triple); fashion show videos (more than 4 times); multiplayer online battle Arena (MOBA) videos (more than 4 times)

Besides, the trend of watching YouTube on Smart TV of Vietnamese people has also increased rapidly reflected in the growing market share of Smart TVs. 

Notably, about 45.6% of internet users in Vietnam own a smart TV and 28.2% of them access the internet via smart TV, according to eMarketer, a market research company.

As tips for delivering personalized experiences for audiences, YouTube recommended marketers should tap into the growing digital population, reach out to every category of consumer, feed the growing appetite for different video categories and continue to stay engaged.

“Vietnam is the first country in Southeast Asia to have ‘TV in Reach Planner’ by YouTube, updated with the latest trends and we’ve seen impressive success stories, like the story of Suntory Pepsico Vietnam Beverage,” Nguyen Quynh Tram, Google country director for Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, said.
