Vietnamese writer's work featured in Japanese publication

Short stories penned by Vietnamese writer Nguyen Nhat Anh, who has millions of young fans in Viet Nam, were featured in a publication that was recently released in Japan.

A book published by the Japanese Ten-Books Publisher, 105 Currently Most Read Books in the World, features articles about 83 writers and their works, including the Kinh Van Hoa (Kaleidoscope) and Cho Toi Xin Mot Ve Di Tuoi Tho (Give Me a Ticket Back to Childhood) by Anh.

The short stories included in the Japanese-language book were selected after taking into consideration their high circulation in the writer's home country. All of the named books have not yet been translated into the Japanese language or published in Japan.

Anh is the only Vietnamese writer whose work was featured in the Japanese book.

"I hope the book will prompt Japanese publishers to further popularise foreign literature in Japan," the 59-year-old writer said.
