Winners will have a chance to join the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready To Wear 2018 and receive many valuable prizes. Members of the jury are fashion experts, including Andrew Tan, founder of the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready To Wear; Malaysian fashion designer Alia Bastamam, Vietnamese designer Phuong My.
The designer search is open to any individual of any nationality, aged 30 years old or below and residing in any of the ten Asean countries. The competition will see audition tours across the capitals of each country throughout April to June in search for the top two aspiring fashion designers to represent their country at the Grand Finale which will take place in Kuala Lumpur this August.
AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2017 is the third edition of this popular design event and the Malaysian finalists were announced at an event in Kuala Lumpur recently. AirAsia is the Preferred Travel Partner for the KL Fashion Week Ready to Wear 2017 (KLFW RTW 2017) and is the sponsor of the Designer Search covering the ten ASEAN countries.
Apart from flying in established designers from India, Japan, China, South Korea and Australia who will showcase their latest collections on the KLFW RTW runway, they will give an opportunity to aspiring young designers to take the next step up.
