Chairperson of the National Assembly (NA), State President and Prime Minister will be elected by secret ballot on March 31, April 2, and April 5, respectively, local media reported at the 54th meeting of the NA’s Standing Committee on Monday.

Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court will take the oath of office on April 6.

It means that all Vietnam’s top positions will be elected at the NA’s 11th Session, the last plenum of the 14th tenure (2016-2021).

Other positions will be elected during the session, including Deputy NA chairpersons, vice president, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, heads of the NA’s Committees, Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Vietnam, and Secretary General of the NA’s Office.

Before electing the persons to the top jobs, the NA will release them from their current duties. By doing so, it helps close time gap between two terms.

At the last plenum, the NA will also pass the reviewed working term by the NA, State Presidency, the Government, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuracy, and the State Audit of Vietnam in the 2016-2021 period.
