The General Assembly of the Asian-Oceania Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO) has elected a new leadership for the 2015 to 2016 term within the framework of the (ASOCIO) ICT Summit 2014 taking place from October 28-31 in Hanoi and central Danang city.

Accordingly, Chairman of the Association of Thai ICT Industry (ATCI) Saraggananda Bunrak has become the new chairman of the ASOCIO.

The organization also includes 8 chairpersons who are ICT association leaders from Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Nepal, Malaysia, Taiwan and Sri Lanka.
Recommended by the new ASOCIO Chairman, Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) was elected as the first vice chairman of the ASOCIO.
The VINASA Chairman elected to the second highest position in the ASOCIO leadership demonstrates Vietnam’s higher position and its credibility for the Asian-Oceania information technology community.
Mr Binh served as stint as ASOCIO Vice Chairman since 2010.
Bunrak Saraggananda said the ASOCIO’s future priority is given to the drafting of a strategy for the establishment and development of a Digital ASEAN Community.
This is seen as crucially important in the context that the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is established in 2015, becoming a single market with 600 million people.
