Vinfast signs two deals with Siemens in electric bus manufacturing

Vinfast aims to improve the Vietnamese traffic infrastructure system with the deals.

​Vinfast, a subsidiary of Vingroup, and Siemens Vietnam have signed two deals on supplying technologies and spare parts for electric bus manufacturing.

With this plan, Vinfast aims to help improve Vietnam’s environment as well as the country’s transportation quality. The two firms agreed to shake hands in building the first line of electric bus, which is scheduled to debut in late 2019. The move serves as background for a value chain for eco-friendly public transportation vehicles manufacturing in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Siemens has experiences in developing electric bus as well as is famous for its application of green techonologies in the transport sector. Meanwhile, VinFast has committed to partner with the world’s namesake firms in providing safe, high-quaility vehicles, meeting European standards.
At the moment, Vinfast is developing other eco-friendly personal vehicles such as electric motorbikes and automobiles, and autos (sedan, SUV) that run on petrol meeting Euro 5 emission standards.
Vo Quang Hue, deputy general director of Vingroup in charge of Vinfast project, said the deals reflect Vinfast’s commitment to bring out safe, convenient and high-quality electric buses for a green future of the Vietnamese people, adding that it will be a pioneering solution to changing public transportation in the country.
Vinfast sets target that by 2025 its factory can produce 500,000 vehicles per year and head to be a leading auto firm in Southeast Asia.
