Vingroup breaks ground on US$1.7 billion resort in Danang
The project aims to transform Danang’s western gateway into a world-class tourism and residential hub.
THE HANOI TIMES — Vinpearl JSC, a subsidiary of the Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup, on June 22 broke ground on the 512-hectare Lang Van Resort and Tourism Complex in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, the central city of Danang.
Costing an investment of VND44 trillion (US$1.7 billion), the project, at the foot of the Hai Van Pass, is one of the most ambitious resort projects in central Vietnam.

The multipurpose complex is designed to include luxury hotels, resorts, villas, apartments, themed parks, dining and commercial zones, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities.
The first components are expected to be operational by 2027.
Speaking at the ceremony, Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Danang, said the project reflects the business community’s strong confidence in the city's investment environment. "Lang Van will create jobs, improve livelihoods, attract more tourists, and serve as a key economic driver for Danang," he said.
Chinh emphasized the untapped potential of Danang’s western urban corridor and stressed the city’s commitment to supporting businesses and ensuring the project is delivered on schedule.
Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and CEO of Vingroup, affirmed the group’s vision to develop Lang Van into a premium living and leisure destination that harmonizes with nature and celebrates local heritage. “Once completed, Lang Van will be a paradise for residents and visitors alike,” he noted.
On November 20, 2024, the project received amended investment approval from the prime minister and was resized from 1,070 hectares to 512.2 hectares as part of Danang’s updated urban planning strategy.
