VN condemns chemical weapon use in Syria

Viet Nam is deeply concerned over the use of chemical weapons in Syria and strongly opposes to the action targeting civilians, said Foreign Minister Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi.

The diplomat made the remark o­n August 29 in response to reporters’ questions on the use of chemical weapons in Syria and the situation in the Middle East.  


“We strongly emphasize the necessity to abide by the International Chemical Weapons Convention and call upon related sides to exercise self-restraint and resolve the problem in a subjective and cautious manner, via peaceful solutions and in respect for international laws and the United Nations Charter,” said Mr. Nghi.
