Viet Nam ran a trade surplus of nearly US$ 90 million with Malaysia in the first two months of 2014, according to the Trade Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in the host country.
Two-way trade turnover stood at US$ 1.24 billion in the first two months of which the former’s exports stood at around US$ 665 milon.
Viet Nam imported over US$ 575 million of goods from the market such as machinery, equipment, plastic products, chemicals, and household appliances.
The bilateral trade expanded by 24% in 2011-2014 period.
Last year alone, two-way trade surpassed US$ 9 million, of which Viet Nam gained a trade surplus of US$ 850 million.
The two sides are striving to ra two raise trade volume to US$ 10 billion by 2015.
