Despite economic difficulties, Viet Nam accounted for a half of the world’s exported pepper volume in 2013 and expects to maintain the output this year.
It also has advantages of favorable production conditions and high yield thanks to new farming methods and scientific and technical advancement applications.
To promote pepper export, solutions to address shortcomings in production, market development and price management should be adopted for the sector’s sustainable development.
In addition, pepper growers should be directed to follow the high-quality standard process to produce clean and safe products.
Both farmers and businesses need to keep updated about market information to facilitate their production and trade.
Planning and processing improvement should also be undertaken to develop the sector sustainably and add more value to the product.
