Leaders and government officials of the US, Russia, China, Cuba, North Korea, ASEAN countries, among others, congratulated Vietnam on the anniversary.
On behalf of the US government, Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo has congratulated the people of Vietnam on the country’s National Day on September 2.
“I have witnessed the remarkable growth of our bilateral partnership. The United States and Vietnam work closely in areas of mutual benefit, including trade and investment, education, health care, energy, and defense,” he said in the statement.
China’s President Xi Jinping highly appreciated Vietnam’s achievements over the past time, affirming that China attempts to boost the comprehensive ties with Vietnam and towards the 70th anniversary of the bilateral relations in 2020.
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed that the comprehensive ties between Vietnam and Russia are strong with cooperation in energy, industry, and infrastructure, and become broader with deepened bilateral and multilateral relations for the sake of the two peoples.
