Winning photos of the Dalat Yersin Photography Awards depict the simple yet amazing beauty of Vietnam's landscapes and people.
The Dalat Yersin Photography Awards International Photo Exhibition (DYPA) were launched by The Da Lat Photo Club, the Lao Dong communal house in Da Lat city and Youi’s Art Space in the Da Lat City to bolster exchange in photography and honor Dr. Alexandre Yersin (1863-1943), who discovered the city in 1893.
According to Ly Hong Long, Chairman of the Da Lat Photography Club and Head of the Dalat Yersin Photography Awards (DYPA) Organizing Committee, the first international photography competition held in the central highland city of Da Lat has been a great success.
"Both domestic and international photographers have brought viewers diverse perspectives and emotions about the beautiful landscapes, architecture, and people of Vietnam," he said.
The DYPA photo contest has attracted the participation of 208 contestants from 27 nations and territories with 2,221 photos.
The jury, which includes photographic artists Dao Tien Dat (Vietnam), Pia Jessen (Australia), and Kyaw Kyaw Winn (Myanmar), has selected 384 photos to display at the exhibition and other 71 award-winning photographic artworks.
The DYPA photo exhibition is on display until February 2023 at Youi's Art Space, Da Lat City.

The beauty of labor in the work called “Silk”. This photo was taken in Bao Loc City, Lam Dong province and won the bronze medal in the photo contest. Bao Loc is the largest silk production center in Vietnam with about 30 factories specializing in producing mulberry silk. |
The photo portrait of a Cham girl in Bau Truc pottery village, Ninh Thuan Province. The ancient pottery village is a famous tourist attraction in the southern region of Vietnam where visitors may have the opportunity to learn how the gorgeous ceramic works have been created by the skillful local villagers. |
A girl is dancing with her umbrella in front of the mansion of Vuong family or the “former King” of H’Mong ethnic minority in Ha Giang Province. Built in the early 20th century, the mansion boasts an area of nearly 3,000 square meters. The photo won the Silver Medal at the DYPA photo competition. |
Linh Phuoc Pagoda or so-called Ve Chai Pagoda in Vietnamese is located in Da Lat City. It is considered one of the most famous landscapes in the locality with the typical design of Asian identity. Especially, there is a dragon carefully made from 12.000 glass beer bottles. |
The photo titled “Beyond the clouds” features the highest building in Vietnam: The Landmark 81. Located by the side of Saigon River in Binh Thanh District, HCMC, the tower is a symbol of the prosperity of the city and Vietnam. |
The photo depicts the beauty of the sunset on the Nam O Bridge in the central coastal city of Danang. Built in the 19th century, the bridge helps connect the North-South railway line in Vietnam. |
The photo titled “the New Coat” is photographed at Industrial Cluster Ward 7, Vi Thanh City, Hau Giang Province. The workers covered the roof with colorful corrugated iron sheets, creating a beautiful “color block” effect. |
