Poetic Hanoi in the leaf changing season of Dracontomelon duperreanum

As in a romantic film, Hanoi is transformed into a serene, lyrical city when the Dracontomelon duperreanum trees change their leaves.

Hanoi has special foliage seasons: autumn and the period between spring and summer. This is when the Dracontomelon duperreanum trees change their leaves, turning the capital into a poetic city.

Dracontomelon duperreanum or Sau in Vietnamese, one of the most popular trees planted for shade in Hanoi since the late 19th century, is revered for its ability to shadow the streets and create beautiful carpets of leaves and flowers.

Dracontomelon duperreanum is most commonly found in the streets of Tran Hung Dao, Phan Dinh Phung, Tran Phu, Dien Bien Phu, Ly Nam De, and around Hoan Kiem Lake in central Hanoi.

Phan Dinh Phung is considered the most beautiful street in the city for the density of Dracontomelon duperreanum trees.

When the Dracontomelon duperreanum trees leaf out, Hanoi becomes a romantic, poetic city.

It seems that by shedding their leaves, the trees slow down the busy and bustling Hanoi a little, transforming it into a serene, poignant city that attracts people who come to enjoy the beautiful view.

Many women dressed in ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) come here to be photographed, adding to the charm of Hanoi's beautiful scenery.

The Dracontomelon duperreanum impresses the visitors and gives a feeling of nostalgia to those who used to live in the city.
