Some films have won high prizes at international film festivals and are expected to be a great success that brings excitement to the audience.

The 10th European – Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival will run from May 31 to June 9, gathering films from Vietnam and 10 European countries namely Austria, Wallonia-Brussels (Belgium), France, Denmark, Germany, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the UK.
The documentary films festival will take place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The event is one of the cultural activities hosted by EUNIC - European Union National Institutes for Culture. It presents the best selection of documentaries covering a diverse range of themes for movie lovers encompassing the environment, society, culture, heritage, integration, among others.
Many directors will attend the festival and share their experiences at talking shops with the audience. Some films have won high prizes at international film festivals and are expected to bring excitement to the audience. In addition, four films of Vietnamese independent filmmakers will be screened on June 9.
In 2018, the ninth European - Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival screened 22 documentary films from 11 European countries and regions, namely Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and Wallonia-Brussels, along with Vietnamese works.
On the occasion of the 100th birthday celebration of Swedish director Ingmar Bergman, audiences of the festival will have the opportunity to enjoy the film Ingmar Bergman - Through the Choreographer’s Eye.
The European - Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival is an event affirming the position of documentary films which have become a form of cinema with particular language, codes, and techniques that the Vietnamese audience should not be deprived of viewing.
The European – Vietnamese Film Festival has established a sustainable position in the culture of film-watching in Vietnam and it has become a familiar annual meeting point for the international and Vietnamese audience who loves documentary films.
