1.6 million people have opportunities to be free of cancer tests

This is the information launched by Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung at the meeting with delegations of Hanoi Evangelical Church led by Pastor Bui Quoc Phong on November 25 morning.

At the meeting, On behalf of the Hanoi Evangelical Church, Pastor Bui Quoc Phong expressed his sincere thanks to the authorities for creating favorable conditions for their legitimate activities. That has consolidated their trust in the Party unit, the government and encouraged them to make further contribution to the city’s development.

Informing about the association's activities, Pastor Bui Quoc Phong said that with the support of the city government at all levels and the encouragement of the Church, the faithful of the Church have made the volunteer programs, such as health care, blood donation; piloted drug treatment programs, detoxification helps hundreds of people to re-integrate into the community.

Welcoming the volunteer program of the Church, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said that to November 27, the Center for the City's high technology and gastrointestinal surgery will be inaugurated in Hanoi, and announced programs for new health care service for the Capital's people. Accordingly, people with health insurance from 35 years will be tested for gastrointestinal cancer and free using the most advanced equipment in the world's high-technical center and gastrointestinal surgery in Hanoi. Test results will be shown in Ward or the Center's internet.

Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung appreciated contribution of Catholic followers in general and Hanoi Evangelical Church in particular to the city’s development. He introduced socio-economic growth of Hanoi to the pastors, and acknowledged their contribution to the city’s development, national unity and fulfillment of socio-economic tasks.

Nguyen Duc Chung also asked Pastor Bui Quoc Phong and Hanoi Evangelical Church to further promote the national unity, contribute to charitable activities and encourage followers to follow the country’s policies and join hands for a civilized and modern city.

The City Chairman also said that the APEC summit preparations, the city will implement the total sanitation, streets and residential areas. "In this plan, the city will launch every week, every departments, the military district will once clean the environment," said the City Chairman. In addition, the City is in Phase II of studying tree-planting, will support a number of people for planting flowers, to make the City cleaner and more beautiful. The City Chairman wishes that for his position, Pastor Bui Quoc Phong will propagate to the faithful support as well as participating in garbage collection in residential place weekly.

Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung also noted the proposals and said that the City will assign departments to coordinate and support the church for this year's Christmas, the celebrations will successfully take place and people can welcome Christmas in peace and happiness.
