Vietnam calls for Japan's continued support of climate goals
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha urged the Japanese government to continue supporting Vietnam in achieving greenhouse gas emission reduction and climate change adaptation targets through projects under the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) initiative, following Japan's Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) on February 25. He also emphasized Vietnam's commitment to developing green transportation and carbon credit market operations.
Vietnam-South Africa to strengthen defense ties
Vietnam and South Africa are urged to sign a memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation to strengthen practical cooperation and support UN peacekeeping missions, for which both nations have a good track record. At the third Vietnam-South Africa Defense Policy Dialogue, held in Hanoi on February 25, Defense Minister Phan Van Giang stressed the need to deepen partnerships, strengthen high-level exchanges, and explore new areas of cooperation.
Kazakhstan to strengthen anti-corruption ties with Vietnam
Kazakhstan is prioritizing anti-corruption efforts and looking to learn lessons from Vietnam's "Burning Furnace" campaign. During a meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh on February 25, Zhumagali A.Zh, Chairman of Kazakhstan's Anti-Corruption Agency, stressed his hope to sign a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam's Government Inspectorate, paving the way for Kazakhstani President Tokayev's planned visit in 2025.
Hanoi and Danang to host AISC 2025 conference in March
The International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors 2025 (AISC 2025) will be held in Hanoi and Danang on March 12-16. The event will bring together tech giants such as Google, Intel, and Samsung, along with more than 1,000 AI and semiconductor experts. With the Vietnamese Government focusing on science and technology development, the conference will be an important opportunity for Vietnam to access the latest industry trends and strengthen its position in the field.
Vietship 2025 to feature nearly 200 shipbuilding technology booths
The Vietship 2025 International Exhibition will be held in Hanoi from March 5 to 7, with nearly 200 booths from over 100 local and international exhibitors focusing on shipbuilding and offshore engineering technology. Vietship has been Vietnam's largest and longest-running maritime industry exhibition since 2002. The event aims to promote cooperation and technology exchange for industry growth and energy security.

Binh Dinh approves US$94.92 million substation project
The central coastal province of Binh Dinh has approved the 500kV Binh Dinh Substation and Transmission Line Project, with a total investment of over US$94.92 million. The substation will have an initial capacity of 900 MVA, expandable to 1800 MVA. Construction is scheduled to start in Q3, 2027 and be completed in Q4, 2029. The project will improve the reliability of power supply for Binh Dinh Province and the nation while preventing the overloading of other transmission lines.
Vietnam banh mi Festival 2025 to be held in HCM City
The 3rd Vietnam Banh mi Festival will be held at Le Van Tam Park in Ho Chi Minh City from March 21 to 24, 2025, with free admission. The festival will have 180 stalls and is expected to attract more than 180,000 visitors. Activities will include many cultural and culinary experiences, with a special highlight this year being a record-breaking display of 100 seafood bread accompaniments displayed on a boat.
