2019 Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival expected to boost local tourism
Khanh Hoa province People’s Committee has approved the plan for the organization of the 2019 Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival, which is scheduled to take place in the central province from May 10 to 13.
The 2019 Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival will feature cultural, artistic and sport activities, aiming to introduce the province’s strengths in economics, culture and tourism as well as its sustainable development prospects.
In addition, visitors will experience a number of celebrations during the event, including Cau Ngu Worshipping ritual, Khanh Hoa Salangane Nest celebration, art game, among others.
The festival also includes sport tournaments including swimming, beach volleyball and National Muay.
The Festival has been a biennia event since 2003. Some 120,000 foreign and domestic tourists flocked to the city during the previous festival.
Boasting 180 kilometers of coastline, stunning natural landscapes with Van Phong, Nha Trang and Cam Ranh bays listed as the world’s most beautiful bays, together with many exciting festivals such as Ponagar Temple festival, whale worshipping festival, and Salanganes Festival, Khanh Hoa province poses huge potential to develop tourism.
Khanh Hoa province received 465,000 tourists (a 13.5% increase year-on-year) in January 2019, including 255,000 foreign tourists, a 27.5% inter-annual increase, according to the municipal Department of Tourism. Also in January, 4,000 cruise tourists visited the province, rising 60% year-on-year.
