2022 Heritage Photographic Contest: “Ninh Thuan - The Land of the Heritage” opens calls

All Vietnamese people living in and outside the country and foreigners in Vietnam are invited to participate in the annual 2022 Heritage Photographic Contest.

The photo contest titled “Ninh Thuan - The Land of the Heritage” is aimed at promoting culture and beautiful landscapes of the Central Province of Ninh Thuan which is home to dozens of tourist attractions.

According to the organizers, this year contest is held with an aim to give a chance for domestic and international photographers to capture the beauty of the land, life and people of Ninh Thuan, the province is rich in Cham culture. 

The locality now preserves many precious heritages of Champa culture including writing, folk songs and dances, costumes and brocade weaving, architectural art and sculpture.

Ninh Thuan also boasts Nui Chua Biosphere Reserve with its core area being the Nui Chua National Park which is recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) as a World Biosphere Reserve.

Having hot and sunny weather all year round, the national park forms a unique ecosystem, the only standard model of the typical and unique dry forest ecosystem of Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

The award-winning photos of the 2020 Heritage Photographic Contest - "The Heritage Journey" 

The photographers will vie for a total of 36 top prizes worth VND85 million (US$3,700) in two categories. Submissions to the contest can be either single images or photosets. The photographs must be taken in the past three years. Each photographer can submit up to eight entries (single photos and set photos of five to eight pieces) to the website http://ninththuan-miendisan.com by April 10. Winners will be announced on April 16.

The contest is organized by the Mekong One Corporation and Vietnam Airlines’s Heritage Magazine, in coordination with the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan Province and the Vietnam Association of Photographers.

The best photos will be on display at an exhibition, which is scheduled to be held from May 20 to June 20 at The One Heritage Villa, No 154 Quan Thanh Street, Hanoi.
