In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), the Hoan Kiem District People's Committee, together with the National Archives Center I, launched an online 3D exhibition entitled "Dear Citizens of the Capital!" on September 20.

The online exhibition features archival documents and images depicting the struggle and resistance of Hanoi's people and army against French colonial forces from the late 19th century to 1954, many of which are being made public for the first time.
It is divided into three thematic sections: "Hanoi in Flames" presents materials and images from the early days of the French invasion; "Hanoi Uprising" highlights the revolutionary struggles in Hanoi from 1930 to 1954; and "Hanoi's Triumphant Return" features images and documents from Liberation Day and celebrates the enduring spirit of victory.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Pham Tuan Long, Chairman of the Hoan Kiem District People's Committee, emphasized that the exhibition, presented in an online format using digital technology, reflects the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of the capital while preserving traditional values through each precious archival photo on display.
"The organizers hope that this exhibition will provide an engaging experience for the public through digital technology, offering valuable insights into the history of Hanoi - a city with a thousand years of civilization, heroism and peace in the flow of Vietnam's history. It will also contribute to fostering the patriotism and pride of the people of Hanoi, while accompanying the development of the cultural industry in the capital," said Chairman Pham Tuan Long.
