80% of respondents support the model of urban railroad Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station: Survey
A railway official stated that the survey was carried out in an objective and accurate manner.
A majority of respondents said they agreed to the design of the urban railway train from Nhon to Hanoi Railway Station, the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board (MRB) said at a press meeting on September 28, citing polls on the design of the urban railway train that would be used for Route No.3, from Nhon to Hanoi Railway Station.
More than 1,000 people were randomly selected to participate in the live survey, giving comments on the design and interior of the train. Most of the respondents are between 18 and 60 years old, and living or studying, working along the route.
The results showed that 80% of the respondents said the train’s design is well perceived while more than 90% said they are ready to use when the train is put into operation.
MRB’s Director Nguyen Cao Minh said that the survey was carried out in accordance with the plan and guidelines of the Hanoi People's Committee, with close and professional steps that can guarantee objective and accurate results.
Director of Alstom Vietnam Doan Viet Dung said that the urban railway train of the route is designed with three colors: yellow - red - gray with the characteristics of Vietnam's popular agricultural products.
Besides, the train is equipped by France's Alstom with a fleet of modern facilities in accordance with European standards. The train’s low floor is very convenient for passengers to go up and down, especially disable people and those carrying heavy luggage.
The MRB’s executive added that after the official approval of the Hanoi People's Committee, the design of the urban railway train of route No.3 will be produced.
MRB’s Deputy Head of Project Management Unit 1 Nguy Nhu Nguyen said that the total investment for ten trains of the urban railway train of the route is about EUR110 million.
The route runs through districts of Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Ba Dinh, Dong Da, Hoan Kiem, with a length of 12.5km and 12 stations (eight high-rise stations and four underground stations), Nguyen added.
He stressed it is expected that the high-rise 8km will be commercially used in early 2021, while the remaining underground 4.5km will be completed and put into operation by the end of 2022, all 10 trains will be ready in Hanoi for operation by the end of 2020.
