Add more than 300 parking plots on Hanoi streets

The Hanoi Department of Transport said that they would allow to open 300 parking lots on the streets as current parking facilities only meet up to 8%-10% of the demand.

90-92% of the vehicles are kept at parking lots of apartment buildings or shopping centres.
In the coming time, they will give licenses to over 300 parking lots on the street that have met all requirements. The odd-even day parking method will also be applied on other streets this year.
According to Hanoi Department of Transport, there are about 720 parking places of 145.000 Square meters on pavement, on the wide medians, under the overpass. In which 74 ones (covers 16.500 square meters) are unregistered or saw their licenses expire.
In addition, 174 parking plots are placed inside school. To solve the parking place shortage, the department has taken numerous measures including odd-even days parking on Da Tuong and Nguyen Gia Thieu Streets (Hoan Kiem and Hai Ba Trung District); pilot apply technology in management; use automatic toll collecting system (IPARKING) in Tran Hung Dao street and Ly Thuong Kiet Street.
Along with those actions, via polling, Hanoi Department of Transport decided to give licenses to over 300 parking lots on the street that have met all requirements. In the coming time, the odd-even day parking method will also be applied on other streets this year.
