Ambassador lauds Vietnam-Russia sound relations

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s upcoming visit to Russia represents a significant landmark in bilateral ties, signifying the two states and people’s aspirations to elevate their time-honoured friendship to a level of comprehensive strategic partnership.

Vietnam Ambassador to Russia Nguyen Thanh Son made the remark in a recent interview granted to Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV) correspondents in Russia prior to Trong’s visit slated for November 22.

Vietnam-Russia relations have been consolidated by agreements on bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership and by the mutual understanding between the two peoples, he added.

Ambassador Son said, “We think that both countries are enjoying fruitful cooperation in military, education, and training. Russia wants to help Vietnam train young scientists and intellectuals. Both nations are discussing the building of a nuclear power plant in central Ninh Thuan province. Numerous renowned Vietnamese cultural activists and artists have been trained in the Soviet Union or Russia.”

The Vietnamese diplomat also hailed the Vietnamese community’s positive contributions to Russia’s stability and economic development.
