Announcing 10 Outstanding Vietnamese Youths in 2014

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Young Talent Support Fund organized a press conference on March 18 to announce 10 winners of the Outstanding Vietnamese Youths Awards 2014.

The awards aim to honour outstanding Vietnamese individuals at home and abroad who make remarkable achievements in the fields of studying, scientific research, production, business, national security, defence, culture, art, sports and social activities. 
Secretary of the Communist Youth Union Le Quoc Phong said the 10 Outstanding Vietnamese Youths in 2014 have made remarkable achievements and large spread in society as Pham Tuan Huy from the University of Natural Science under the Vietnam National University-HCM City, who won two golds at the International Math Olympiad in 2013 and 2014; Phan Minh Liem, President of the Graduate Student Association of the Texas University’s Anderson Cancer Centre; weightlifter Thach Kim Tuan, who set two new world records at the World Junior Championships in Athletics in Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia in 2014; Quach Hoang Nhi, a fifth grader at the Nam Thanh Cong primary school who has won tens of medals at piano competitions at home and abroad; etc.
The ceremony to present the Outstanding Vietnamese Youths Awards 2014 will be held in Hanoi on March 28.
