Announcing three new laws

The Presidential Office has unveiled three new laws, including the Law on Amendments and Supplements to Article 6 and Appendix 4 on the list of conditional business lines of the Investment Law, the Law on Property Auctions, and the Law on Belief and Religion.

The Presidential Office held a press conference in Hanoi on December 12 to announce three new laws freshly adopted at the 2nd session of the 14th National Assembly last month.

They are the Law on Amendments and Supplements to Article 6 and Appendix 4 on the list of conditional business lines of the Investment Law, the Law on Property Auctions, and the Law on Belief and Religion.
Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Dang Huy Dong said the Law on Amendments and Supplements to Article 6 and Appendix 4 on the list of conditional business lines of the Investment Law abolishes 20 conditional business lines in a bid to provide favourable conditions for people and businesses.
Meanwhile it adds 15 others that meet the new requirements of the State’s management of investment and business activities.
The law will take effect on January 1, 2017, except for regulations on the business of disguised devices and software to record sound and image, as well as those on the production, assembly and import of automobiles, which will come into effect on July 1, 2017.
The Law on Property Auctions that consists of eight chapters with 81 articles will become effective on July 1, 2017. However, Clause 4 of Article 80 of the law, which regulates the collection, submission, management and use of auction service fees in accordance with existing legal regulations, will take effect on January 1, 2017.
According to Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Khanh Ngoc, the law stipulates principles, processes and procedures for property auctions; the rights and obligations of auctioneers and auction organisers; the settlement of violations and procedures for the annulment of auction results and State management of property auctions.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Nguyen Trong Thua said that the Law on Belief and Religion has nine chapters with 68 articles, stipulating the right to freedom of belief and religion, religious activities and religion organisations.
The law will take effect on January 1, 2018.
