The Asia-Pacific Getaway (APG) submarine cable from Vietnam to Singapore, which was crashed on December 23, 2017, will be fixed from January 6-7, according to an Internet services supplier in Vietnam.
To deal with the problem, VNPT prioritises Internet traffic on other submarine cables operating stably such as Asia-Africa-Europe 1 (AAE-1) and Southeast Asia-Middle East-Western Europe (SMW-3) to assure the connection quality.
The 10,400km long Asia-Pacific Gateway is an undersea cable system linking 8 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region, namely Malaysia, Singapore, China, China’s Hong Kong and Taiwan, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Vietnam.
