THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoians filled the Vietnam–Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace on September 18 for “Grateful for Parents 2025,” an art program that blended emotion and tradition in a moving tribute to family values.

This special event served as a heartfelt tribute to the sacred bond between parents and children - an expression of filial piety, gratitude, and love that has been cherished for generations in Vietnamese culture.

Being organized by Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper (Economic & Urban), Phu nu Viet Nam Newspaper (Vietnamese Women), and Oscar Media, the program featured powerful performances that left a lasting impression on the audience.

Held annually since 2017, the event has become a meaningful tradition during the Vu Lan season of filial piety, which falls in the 7th lunar month or September this year.

Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Tuyen (third from right), presented flowers to the program's Organizing Board.

Nguyen Thanh Loi, Editor-in-Chief of Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Board delivers the opening speech at the program.

He emphasized that filial piety is not only a moral foundation, but a timeless virtue embedded in the Vietnamese spirit.

He said that showing love and respect to one’s parents also reflects gratitude toward ancestors and those who sacrificed for the nation’s peace and independence.
