Art performance showcases Vietnamese tradition of filial piety

THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoians filled the Vietnam–Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace on September 18 for “Grateful for Parents 2025,” an art program that blended emotion and tradition in a moving tribute to family values.
This special event served as a heartfelt tribute to the sacred bond between parents and children - an expression of filial piety, gratitude, and love that has been cherished for generations in Vietnamese culture.
Being organized by Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper (Economic & Urban), Phu nu Viet Nam Newspaper (Vietnamese Women), and Oscar Media, the program featured powerful performances that left a lasting impression on the audience.
Held annually since 2017, the event has become a meaningful tradition during the Vu Lan season of filial piety, which falls in the 7th lunar month or September this year.

Diva My Linh performs heartfelt songs like “Mother’s Lullaby” and “Mother’s Legend”, stirring deep emotions in the crowd.
Renowned singer Phuong Thanh showcased her sweet and soulful voice.
Adding a touching cross-cultural element, American singer Kyo York captivates the audience with his flawless Vietnamese and powerful vocals in a heartfelt song honoring fathers.
These performances touched the hearts of the audience.
