Art program recreating Hanoi history to take place at August Revolution Square

The special art program “Hanoi – From the Historic Autumn of 1945” highlights the legacy of the August Revolution, celebrating patriotism, national self-reliance, and the aspiration for progress.

THE HANOI TIMES — The August Revolution Square will turn into an outdoor stage for the special art program "Hanoi - from the historic Autumn of 1945" on the evening of August 15.

It will open a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

The program, expected to receive 5,000 audience, shows gratitude to the previous generations who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, while arousing pride, self-reliance, and the desire to rise up in every citizen of the capital today.

The 90-minute program is divided into 3 chapters, taking the audience through a heroic historical journey.

First, “Hanoi in the historical autumn days” recreates the seething atmosphere of the August 19, 1945 General Uprising, when the red flag with a yellow star fluttered on the roof of the Opera House, marking the turning point that opened the era of independence and freedom for the Vietnamese people.

Chapter II, “The heroic epic of the  Ho Chi Minh era,” recalls the years when the capital joined the whole country in the resistance war. The resounding victories such as "Dien Bien Phu in the air" in 1972 and the Spring Uprising of 1975 were the peak of Vietnam's will and strength.

Chapter III “Spring trains” portrays Hanoi after the ups and downs. The city returns to peace, steadily moves forward, and is a place where the elite converge, connecting tradition with modernity, towards a prosperous future.

The program has the participation of famous artists, professional art units in the capital, and art students.

The program combines advanced performance technology elements (such as mapping, LED, laser...), connecting history, present, and future through stage space and performance content.

It will be broadcast live on VTV1, rebroadcast on Hanoi Radio and Television, and digital platforms, so that everyone at home and abroad can watch.
