Attending the event were representatives from the capitals and cities of ASEAN member countries, as well as ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn.
In his opening remarks, Atsaphangthong Siphandone, Mayor of Vientiane, noted that the MGMAC and AMF, which have been organized since 2012, become a platform for local leaders to meet and exchange ideas.
The forum serves as a regional space to strengthen cooperation among the capitals and cities of ASEAN, providing opportunities to discuss and address common challenges and develop strategies that benefit both the cities and the region.
This year's conference, themed "Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience for Sustainable Development of ASEAN Cities," focused on five key areas: livable and sustainable cities, green tourism, sustainable economic development, environmentally sustainable cities, and climate resilience. Participants exchanged ideas and contributed to identifying policies and practical implementation strategies.
