Music lovers in the capital city of Hanoi will have a chance to savour the pinnacle of music as performed by the Asia Youth Orchestra (AYO) on August 17-18 at the Vietnam National Academy of Music (VNAM).
The AYO is a free summer cultural exchange programme, aiming to honour young and talented artists from Asia. It also helps to enrich the performing arts experience of the young musicians.
The orchestra consists of 110 outstanding and young musicians from mainlandChina, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Violist Do Ngoc Thao My from the VNAM is the sole Vietnamese representative at this year’s orchestra.
Since its debut in 1990, the AYO has performed 366 concerts around the world, serving up musical banquets for over one million music lovers.
