Australia, Vietnam universities build research link in agriculture
Senior representatives from Australia’s Regional University Network (RUN) are on a visit to Vietnam from April 20-24 to develop research partnerships with Vietnamese universities and institutes in agriculture, forestry, regional development and sustainable development.
According to RUN Chairman Peter Lee, RUN universities have a strong and growing applied research effort undertaken from a unique regional perspective. RUN is looking forward to collaborating with Vietnamese partners on a range of significant projects.
The RUN delegation is scheduled to visit the University of Agricultural,Thai Nguyen University, the Vietnam Academy of Forest Sciences, the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture Sciences, Nha Trang University, Da Lat University, Vietnam National University - VNU Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry and Can Tho University.
During the visit, a research seminar on “agriculture development for the Mekong Delta” will be held in the city of Can Tho by the Australian Government, RUN universities and Can Tho University.
Around 20 Australian alumni are invited to attend the seminar to explore opportunities for future research collaboration and networks in agriculture.
RUN consists of six universities with headquarters in Australia. Every year RUN delivers educational programmes to over 110,000 students, trains over 2,200 higher-degree researchers and conducts world-class research studies.
